Filament Drying Temperature and Time Chart: AMS 2 Pro or AMS HT?
Pick a material to see Bambu Lab’s recommended drying range and whether it fits within the AMS 2 Pro (up to 65 °C) or the AMS HT (up to 85 °C).
| Material | Bambu’s oven temperature | Time | Dry before use | Desiccant during use | AMS 2 Pro (65 °C) | AMS HT (85 °C) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PLA (incl. PLA-CF/GF) | 50–60 °C | 8 h | Recommended | Optional | Within range | Within range |
| PETG (incl. PETG-CF) The AMS 2 Pro’s own drying presets may differ from this oven range, so follow the settings it suggests. | 60–70 °C | 8 h | Recommended | Optional | Only part of the range | Within range |
| ABS | 75–85 °C | 8 h | Recommended | Optional | Above its maximum | Within range |
| ASA Bambu lists ABS and ASA on one row. | 75–85 °C | 8 h | Recommended | Optional | Above its maximum | Within range |
| PA (PA, PA-CF/GF, PAHT-CF/GF, PET-CF) Bambu says PA left in open air for about three months absorbs moisture deeply and is hard to dry in a conventional oven. Store it sealed with desiccant. | 75–85 °C | 8–12 h | Required | Required | Above its maximum | Within range |
| PC Bambu says repeated dry and cool cycles can make PC brittle. Seal it with desiccant after drying. | 75–85 °C | 8 h | Required | Required | Above its maximum | Within range |
| TPU Only the lowest end of Bambu’s range, 65 °C, is within the AMS 2 Pro’s maximum. | 65–75 °C | 8 h | Required | Required | Only part of the range | Within range |
How to read this chart
- Temperature, time and the “required” columns come from Bambu’s wiki table for a blast (forced-air) drying oven. The AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT use their own presets, so their times can differ.
- The two right-hand columns are this site’s comparison of Bambu’s oven range with each unit’s maximum temperature. They are not a statement from Bambu. Bambu’s store does say some filaments need more than the AMS 2 Pro’s 65 °C and recommends the AMS HT for those.
- Always check your filament maker’s data sheet. It can differ from Bambu’s table.
